Why we publish, who we publish for, and what we believe a book owes its reader.
Open Word Publishing exists because too many faith books arrive at the hard questions and change the subject. We publish the ones that don't.
Our name is a conviction, not just a logo. We believe Scripture doesn't stay shut when life gets difficult — it opens, and it gives light exactly where light is needed most.
"The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple." Psalm 119:130 (NASB1995)
That's the kind of book we try to publish: one that takes suffering, doubt, and silence as seriously as Scripture does, and then follows the text all the way to the God who enters the wreckage rather than explaining it from a distance.
Every title is built from Scripture outward, not from a thesis backward — grounded in the Psalms, the Prophets, the Gospels, and the Epistles.
We don't publish books that rush past grief, doubt, or suffering to get to a tidy conclusion. The questions get room to breathe.
Our books are written for individuals and small groups alike — meant to be underlined, discussed, and returned to.
